Head 2 Head

May 29, 2007

This is how I describe the race for the Primera. Both Barca and Real have won again in Sundays league games and they still have the same number of points. But as some of you know if they will finish like this Madrid will win the title because they are ranked better in the face to face games, winning on Santiago Bernabeu. At Nou Camp the game ended with a draw.

So here are the results for Matchday 36:

Ronaldinho in the spotlight
Barca wins 1-0 home with Getafe. Ronaldinho scored but was also red carded. This could be a major setback for the next game.
Getafe couldn’t stop the Catalans although it is suposed that Real Madrid promised them a 3 million euros sponsorship. I can also note down that Ronaldinho reached the number 20 goal mark in this Primera Division season Top scorers table.
Further on you have a 1min movie with the goal and another short videao with Ronaldinho been sent off! This cand be discussed, but in my opinion he was provoked by the Getafe player. If you will study the video you will see that the Getafe player fouled him 3 times in a row and stepped on him. After this Ronaldinho reacted with a kick but I don’t know if it’s reasonable to offer a red card and leave the Getafe player unpunished.

And here Ronaldinho been sent off and the crowds fury:

Beckham a pleasant surprise
As you might se my subtitle, in this Real Madrid win Beckham was the surprise for me. His crosses where aqurate and most of them where transformed in goals. becks also hit the post in the 2nd half and completed a fine performance. Real looks confident are the favourits to win the league at this moment.

Sevilla staying in touch
Sevilla won at home 3-1 agains Zaragoza and keeps the pace with the leaders. Their chances for the title are slim but you can never know what happens. Here is their victory on video:
