Carlo Ancelotti extends to 2010

Carlo Ancelotti happy with the extension.

Carlo Ancelotti has agreed a new deal to coach AC Milan until 2010. His contract was expiring at the end of nest season. Now the 47 year old AC Milan coach extended his agrement for 3 more years.

His latest performance with the “Rossoneri” was winning the 2007 Uefa Champions league trophy last week in Athens, after a 2-1 win against Liverpool.

Ancelloti’s reaction

“I am very pleased to have reached this agreement and I feel happy to continue here,” he says on the club’s official website.

“We have won the Champions League because in November the board have given me their confidence, while others talked about other coaches. Adriano Galliani is a great director.”

This is what Ancelloti had to say after the extension. He seems to be delighted to continue at Ac Milan.
Carlo, who played for Italy at the 1990 World Cup, had been a part of Milan’s legendary European Cup winning sides of 1989 and 1990.

History with the club
With Milan AC, the confirmed coach has a long history. After palying for 5 years for the club it was his turn to coach the team in 2001. The first season saw Ancelotti bringing Milan on the 4th place in the league, and a Champions League spot.
The next season brought the UCL to the Rossoneri after defeating arch riveals Juventus in the final.
After that Ancelloti went winning anothe Seria A title for the cup and playing another UCL final agains Liverpool. This season start with an 8 point penalty because of Italy’s famous match fixing scandal. Ancelloti proved again that he can ris to the challange, won the Champions League and finished 4th in the league.
