Will Robben change his shirt this summer?

Arjen Robben one of the best Chelsea players in the last season could switch to Real Madrid this summer. This is what some rumours said last week. But Robben’s father and his agent have denied this and they explained that Arjen has never discussed with Real officials about the move. More, the dutch winger is days away from signing a new deal with Chelsea, adding another five years to his Stamford Bridge venue.

We’re nearly finished negotiating with Chelsea, Arjen will stay another five years with the club.” (Robben senior.)

Ramon Calderon confirms, Robben senior denies
Robben’s transfer to Real Madrid was also explained by Ramon Calderon, Madrid’s president who mentioned that discussions between his club and Chelsea about Robben are at the beginning. But all this was dismissed by senior Robben.

I never met him or anyone from Madrid and did not speak to them.” (Robben’s father.)

Chelsea Facts
After Ricardo Carvalho and Michael Essien decided to stay with the Londoners it was Robben’s moment to confirm his position. Both Essien and Carvalho signed new long term deals and it’s expected that captain John Terry and Frank Lampard will act the same.
Robben was suspected to leave The Blues, because his frequent injuries have kept him a long time of to season on the bench and Chelsea officials where not thrilled about the situation.

Other Premiership moves
- Chelsea’s Geremi could sign with Middlesbrough
- Olympique Lyon’s winger, Florent Malouda, contacted by Chelsea and Liverpool, as he is set to leave the French club
