Brazil and Uruguay qualified for the Copa America semi-final stage

Brazil and Uruguay are the first two teams to qualify for the Copa America 2007 semi-final stage. Both have won with a clear superiority their quarter-final games played yesterday. Uruguay has defeated the host nation Venezuela after an intresting game that was balanced until the final quarter of the match when Uruguay managed to take the lead and to increase it in the final minutes of the game.

In the other quarter final Brazil defeated Chile 6-1 and played it’s best game of the competition until now. Robinho was again in the spotlights, scoring twice and adding another doppietta to his Tournament Top Goalscorer account. He has now reached six goals and we are still counting. Brazil will face Uruguay in the first Copa America 2007 semi-final on the 10th of July.
