Beach Soccer World Cup - Rio de Janeiro 2007

The 2007 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup was hosted in Rio de Janeiro. FIFA started to organize this competition in 2005. It was prior known as the Beach Soccer World Championships.
The most prestigious team of this competition is Brazil and it’s natural talent for the Beach Soccer skills. The famous Copacabana hosted 10 times this competition. In 2008 the Beach Soccer World Cup will be hosted by France, in Marseille at the Plage du Prado.
Beach Soccer World Cup - Rio de Janeiro 2007
The 2007 edition of this competition was won by the host nation. You can see the highlights of the final hosted in Rio de Janeiro HERE! Brazil won 8-2 and received their 11th Beach Soccer World Cup title. Mexico where the runners up of course.
The match for the thrid place ended with Uruguay’s win over France. The competition had a total of almost 250 goals scored, almost 8 goals per game.Beach Soccer World Cup - Statistics
The 2007 Beach Soccer goalscorer is Brazilian Buru with 10 goals scored. Worth to mention that last years, goalscorer Madjer had 21 goals. Buru was also voted player of the tournament.
As mentioned above most World Cup titles count Brazil, with 11 titles, Portugal are second placed with a single title obtained in 2001, while third placed France obtained their only tournament win in 2005.
