England 2 - 3 Croatia - Highlights
0 - 1 Niko Kranjcar opens the score for Croatia with a long range shot and a huge Carson error.
England have missed the Euro 2008 tournament. Incredible, dramatic breathtaking game tonight at the New Wembley. Croatia came to win and everyone could see this after their 0 - 2 lead in the 14th minute. Steve McClaren started the game with Carson in England’s goal and the keeper made a huge mistake and allowed Croatia to open the score.
The second half showed David Beckham and Defoe entering the pitch for England. Frank Lampard pulled one back from a disputable penalty kick. Crouch equalized after a brilliant Beckham cross and everything seemed to return to normal.
Mladen Petric scores in the 77th minute and Russia win in Andorra. England receives it’s upset of the century and misses the Euro 2008 tournament. Who’s responsible for this? Comment and share your opinion.

Euro will be less of a competition without a team like England…but after the mess that botht he previous managers have left this team in… this shock may be what was needed to wake them up!

Get real, you think your better than spain, italy, germany, France, portugal. if you think that you need to wake up. As do england, get Mclaren out and for fuck sake play 2 up front instead of being scared. we deserved not to qualify but Croatia dream on!!

Croatia will be dangerous and remember this statement when you watch Croatia’s success in Euro 2008. Yes i agree we played a disappointing game against Australia but that was more than a year ago. For your information Croatia has developed a much more powerful and stable team since than, not to mention a new Coach, with dozens of fresh, young, talented and skilled new players. If my memory serves me correctly, the Croation team didin’t consists of Petric, Eduardo, Mondric, Corluka only to mention a few, in the 06 WC. Do your research before you make any judgments. so ye i truly believe we are good enough to stand on the top with the big teams; Germany, Portugal, France and even Italy which we beat every single time that we played them in a major cups, don’t know if you noticed that pattern.
You cannot honestly say that Croatia isn’t good enough to be considered as one of the big teams. the evidence is all there as they reached 6th rank in the world. agen research b4 u make any judgements.

What a disaster! Best way of defending your own goal is to attack the other. Why start an inexperienced goalkeeper, no matter how good he might be, for such an important game? Robertson needs more respect and deserved a chance to make up for the goof in the last game gainst Croatia.Way too much space given to the Croation players. On a wet day anything can happen and so the shooters needed to be closed down much more quickly. England got what they deserved, unfortunately, even though hey obviously missed the injured players like Rooney. Time for a new aproach from the management
England’s stocks are currently at their lowest ebb, but with their large population they will be back sooner than you think. Croatia has improved greatly from their abysmal WC2006 campaign, but they’ll need further improvement to win Euro2008, particularly in their defence. Da Silva is awesome.
About Iran-Croatian connection, very little evidence for that. It is not a mainstream theory at all. Croats are Slavic, they were part of the great Slavic migrations in eastern Europe that took place over a thousand years ago. Some mixing with local Illyrian tribes, some minor influx from neighbours such as Italy, Austria, Hungary, Greece. Nevertheless, good political and cultural relationship with Iran.
Back to football. Russia can certainly thank Croatia. But Israel made Croatia’s life much easier because the Croats felt no pressure playing against England since they had already qualified. So maybe Russia’s loss against Israel helped Russia!

Dear Nick, you’re probably very young.
Othervise you’re remember Croatia winning over Italy (2:1) at the last world cup or winning over Germany at the World Cup in France (3:0) to give you just a few examples from the big tournaments.
At the moment, Croatia is ranked no 6 of all world teams and recently (if my memory serves me well - lol) beat England twice (some months ago at home and two days ago on Wembley).
