Wigan Atheltic obtained a short win over Newcastle United at the JJB Stadium in fron of a 20,300 fans attendance. Steve Bruce’s squad won with 1 - 0 and obtained three very important points, for their race to avoid the relegation. With the points won yesterday, Wigan have climbed up to the 17th spot, which is the 1st spot available that saves a team from relegation.
On the other hand , Newcastle have a season below their normal performance. Sam Allardyce’s side are ranked only in the second part of the table, and their game is not shining at all.
The only goal of this game was scored in the second half, in the 65th minute, by Taylor after a superb free kick shot. It was one of the few goal chances of the game. You can watch the highlights in the above embedded videos. In fact I recomend you to do it.
