Group D leaders face-off - CAN 2008

| Group D leaders face-off - CAN 2008 |
Tunisia and Angola are the Group D leaders and they play tonight against each other in the final match-day of the group stage. The maths is simple for the 2 sides, a draw will bring them together to the next stage of the competition, with Tunisia winning the group and Angola placing second. Considering that the two teams will meet the qualifying teams from the Group C in the quarter finals and that Egypt and Cameroon have qualified from that group, there is not much to chose from.
I am so curious if they will decide to play a “friendly” draw and go hand to hand to the quarter-finals or that they will play it out until the end. The risks are that the team that if one of the team loses tonight, Senegal might be ready to grab that second spot in the group. Senegal are third at the moment and play against South Africa at the same time tonight.
Tunisia and Angola have recently meet in a friendly game in late May 2005 and the Tunisians won that match with 4-1. But that’s already a long time ago and it was also just a friendly.
