Cameroon defeats Ghana and reaches the CAN 2008 final. The game was balanced and in my point of view Cameroon did not prove more than Ghana that they should play the final. Also the referee was correct and did not whistle in favor of the home team at all. Watch the highlights in the embedded videos and comment the game here.

The game will start at 18:00 CET and will be refereed by Abderahim El Arjoune. It should be a dramatic encounter, so you should not miss it.
Ghana, the host nation, are undefeated until now in this tournament. They won the Group A with 9 points out of 9 possible and defeated Nigeria in the quarterfinals with 2-1. Claude LeRoy’s side is having a perfect run until the moment, but to be honest I also think that there is quite a big amount of luck in Ghana’s performance until now. If we think that 2 out of the 4 games where won in the last minutes. I don’t think that Ghana has the power to win the CAN 2008.
Cameroon have defeated Tunisia in a dramatic game during the quarterfinals, after extra-time. I also don’t feel that the Indomitable Lions could win this tournament. But it seems that a team from this two should advance to the final.
May the best side win.

Got something to say?

Ghana’s coach is Claude LeRoy, not Ratomir Dujkovic. Also I don’t think luck has anything to do with Ghana’s performance. They had to work hard to win all their games
Thanks for that correction James, I just edited my article.
When I said that Ghana had luck, I meant that they had a few games when they did not convince me and that for example the Ivory Coast, who won in style it’s games, looks more probable to win the tournament from my point of view.
Yes, luck might be a harsh word sometimes, perhaps I exaggerated a little.
Hie there.
It is really very interesting to be part of this useful discussion. As for me, I think that Ghana was very luck because was in the group A wereby there were two weak teams and even though it was tough for Ghana to cross over all these barries which means that today ghana has to convince the crowd otherwise it will be a joke. Cameroon has more chances to win today’s match.
If you have noticed all hosting countries have to be at least up to the quarter finals why this? This is because they as organizers have to acompany the continual football matches at least up to the end and restore credibility as hosters.
However, It may happen that Ghana wins because of many factors such as referees influences and all this and etc. In any case I am of the opinion that Cameroon will definetely win this game except if their defenders do mass up the scheam.
Thanks for your opinion Tiago.
I think that everyone agrees that Ghana had a light way to the semifinals.
And even this game with Cameroon is the easiest possible of this stage, because I find the Ivory Coast and Egypt stronger as Cameroon at the moment.
My opinion is that Ghana will manage to reach the finals, although I am honest and I admit that I am not their fan.
Yes, I also don’t like the host nations at a final tournament. I reached my maximum frustration level as I saw Germany’s path at the WC 2006. They should have played directly in the semifinals.
What do you guys say, will we see some extra-time tonight?
I think that Ghana will win after the extra-time or penalties.
That time stalling in the final part of the game won’t make Cameroon my favorites in the final at all.
