Italy defeats Portugal in a friendly game played tonight at the Letzigrund Stadium in front of an attendance of around 30,000 people. Luca Toni opened the score for Roberto Donadoni’s side just before halftime with a diving kick from close range.
Andrea Pirlo moved the scoreboard again 5 minutes after the break with a deflected volley shot from the edge of the box. Quaresma halved Italy’s lead with a powerful shot, signing a nice goal for Portugal.
The final score was set by Quagliarella after a nice one-touch combination offered by the Italian players. Donadon’s squad seems on the right path for the EURO 2008 while Portugal have still to make some changes in their game and Luiz Felipe Scolari surly knows this.
