First Half Highlights
Surprise, surprise, Egypt defeat in a comfortable way the Ivory Coast in the second semifinal of the African Cup of Nations and qualify to a final against Cameroon. The underdogs have won both semifinals in a surprising CAN 2008 day.
The expected final will be in fact the game for the 3rd place or the bronze medal game as they call it. Fathy opened the score fast for Egypt after only 12 minutes. This was also the halftime score. It was Egypt to score again in the 62nd minute with Zaky placing his name on the scoreboard.
The Ivory Coast where back in the game one minute later, though, with Keita’s goal. Zaky didn’t agree with that and made his name count in the 67th minute, with his second goal of the game and his 4th of the tournament. Terika set the final score to 4-1 for Egypt in the dying moments of the game.
So the final will also ofer us the battle between the first 2 placed players in the goal scorers ranking. Cameroon’s star Samuel Eto’o has 5 will Zaky counts now 4.
The final will be played on Sunday at 18:00 CET at the Ohene Djan Stadium in Accra.
