Manchester United was upset a few hours ago, by town rivals from City at the Old Trafford. Sven Goran Eriksson’s side scored two goals and obtained a prestigious 2-1 win. Darius Vassell opened the score after a speedy counter-attack and some lucky rebounds. The halftime score was 2 - o for City after Mwaruwari’s header from a nice cross.
Michael Carrick scores the consolation goal for United in the injury time after a fine assist from Paul Scholes.
It’s a black phase of the season for the Red Devils, as they manage to win only a point out of six in the last two rounds. Alex Ferguson has to wait for Arsenal to play on Monday in order to see if they gap to the leaders widdens or not.
In the mean time, Chelsea could close to a single point if they defeat Liverpool in a game unfolding at this moment.
