Barcelona clash with Valencia - Copa Del Rey

Barcelona 1-1 Valencia - Highlights
70′ [0 - 1] D. Villa
90′ [1 - 1] X. Hernandez

Barcelona obtain only a draw at home against Valencia. Football is cruel sometimes. The Catalans showed some beautiful skills with Lionel Messi and Samuel Eto’o in top form, but Valencia where the team to open the score late in the 70th minute. Valencia who hardly could take possession of the ball during this game, managed to score after a well played counter-attack.
Barcelona’s efforts paid off in the last seconds of the game, as the Catalans equalized. Xavi scored with a shot from the edge of the box, after a questionable hand-ball at Samuel Eto’o. Watch the highlights to see, what I mean.

1-0 David Villa opens the score for Valencia after a speedy counter-attack.

1-1 Xavi Hernandez equalizes in the last seconds of the game after a clever shot from a long range rebound. Great goal, Valencia claim a hand-ball at Samuel Eto’o, though. I think that he slightly touched the ball with the hand, but it did not influence the trajectory to much. Play on, was a good decision.

Lionel Messi’s shot is saved by Hildebrand.

Lionel Messi has another superb run, but he is denied by Valencia’s keeper again.

0′ Welcome at the FCFootballBlog for this live coverage. Everything is set for the kick-off here at the Camp Nou.

Barcelona vs Valencia is the first semi-final game of the 2007-2008 Copa del Rey season. Today’s match is hosted at the Camp Nou and will kick-off at 22.00 CET. FCFootballBlog will offer you the free live coverage of this clash. The service will include: extended live text commentary, live streams and live scores. Video Highlights will be embedded as soon as available.
Barcelona come into the game with high confidence after cutting Real’s lead in the La Liga, down at only 2 points. The Catalan side has a series of 6 wins and 4 draws in the latest 10 games played in all competitions involved. I am sure that Frank Rijkard’s team will also go for the Copa del Rey.
Valencia have a moderate run at the moment. Ronald Koeman still did not bring his team to maximum performance. The Copa del Rey is the only real achievable target left for Valencia, this season.

Barcelona vs Valencia - Betting Tips and Odds
Barcelona is my favourite for tonight’s encounter at the Camp Nou. The Catalans are in shape and Valencia never recovered to it’s old winning line. It’s true that Rijkard will rest a few key players, but Barca’s roster is so large that the reserves will be as strong as the usual players used in the starting eleven. I will go for a home win in this case and I expect that Barcelona will score more than two goals tonight at the Camp Nou.

Valencia have a better head to head record if we take a look at the latest 5 direct meetings between the two clubs. Today’s visitors have won 2 times against The Catalans, while Frank Rijkard’s team managed a single win in the latest clashes. It’s true that Barcelona’s win is the most updated one, occurring in December 2007, that’s a little over two months ago. All this games are registered in the La Liga.
