Galatasaray 2 - 1 Fenerbahce Highlights
Galatasaray obtained a dramatic qualification to the next round of the Turkish Cup after a close call win over arch rivals Fenerbahce. After a first leg goalless draw a few weeks ago, Galatasaray won 2-1 last night and eliminated Zico’s team from the competition.
Hakan Sukur opened the score for the home team early in the 4th minute. Fenerbahce where one man less in the 26th minute after Lugano’s red card. Gunal managed to grab the equalizer in the 66th minute with a clever placed long range shot. Gunal was red carded 8 minutes later and now Fenerbahce where playing with 2 players less on the pitch.
Umit Karan managed to score the qualifying goal for Galata in the last seconds of the game. It followed two further red cards: Demirel for Fener and Lincoln for Galata.
