Sevilla 3 - 2 Fenerbahce Highlights

Sevilla and Fenerbahce offered a breathtaking game tonight in Spain. The home team controlled almost the entire game and looked to advance to the Champions League quarterfinals. But it was meant to be a dramatic night at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan stadium.
Manolo Jimenez’ side took and early lead in the 5th minute after a cannon-ball free kick sent my Daniel Alves and some sloppy goalkeeping from Volkan Demirel. Keita doubled Sevilla’s lead in the 9th minute with another magnificent goal from long range. It seemed to be a fairy tail night for Sevilla.
Fenerbahce managed to pull one back in the 20th minute as Deivid sent the ball into the net in the 20th minute. Kanoute scored at this 50th appearance in the European Cups for Sevilla and offered to the home team a 3-1 halftime advantage.
Manolo Jimenez’s boys relaxed in the second half and saw themselves qualified to early. Deivid scored his second goal of the game in the 79th minute, after a free kick, while Sevilla’s defense was caught dreaming.
The aggregate was showing a perfect tie and the two clubs went for extra-time. No goals in the two extra-time halves so the qualifying team had to be decided at the penalty shoot-out.
