Magnificent game at the Anfield Road tonight. Liverpool and Arsenal have played a game that it will be worth remembering. I could compare it with that Manchester United vs Real Madrid from a few seasons ago. Like in the first leg, Arsenal have opened the score. This time Abu Diaby opened the score in the 13th minute after a superb attack. Liverpool managed to bring the scoreboard to show 1-1, a score that was displayed for the third time within a week in a Liverpool vs Arsenal clash. Hyypia scored with a superb header after a 30th minute corner kick cross.
The second half showed a more determined home side and Fernando Torres had another personal moment and with the help of a sylish pirouette he managed to bring Liverpool in the lead. Arsene Wenger reacted an sent Theo Walcott and Van Persie on the pitch. The first one had a lightning fast counter attack in the 84th minute, finishing a 60 meters run with a perfect assist for Adebayor, who leveled the score and set Arsenal on the track to the semi-finals.
One minute later. the Cormorants equalized after a penalty kick obtained by the fresh substituted Ryan Babel. Steven Gerard transformed the penalty kick and sent Arsene Wenger and his boys into agony. Arsenal started attacking in waves for the last minutes and Liverpool manage to push the knife deeper into the wound as Ryan Babel scored the 4th goal after a speedy counter-attack.
