Valencia 3 - 1 Getafe Highlights
1-0 Mata heads the ball into the net for the opening Valencia goal.
Valencia are the Copa del Rey winners of the 2007-08 season. Ronald Koeman’s side won tonight at the Vicente Calderon with 3-1 the final against Getafe. The runners-up Getafe, managed to lose the second Copa del Rey final in back to back years. Sevilla beat them last year with 1-0.
Tonight’s encounter started perfectly for Valencia. Mata opened the score in the 4th minute and Alexis signed for an incredible 2-0 early 10 minute win. Getafe woke up and started attacking. After a series of Getafe misses, Cosmin Contra obtained e penalty kick for his team. Esteban Granero scored with a prefectly placed shot and relaunched the final.
The second half ended brought a crossbar for Getafe after a superb Granero skill. Valencia where the ones that scored though. fresh switched-in Fernando Morientes headed the ball into the back of the net after a rebound from a long range Ruben Baraja free kick shot.
