The Spanish Champions, Real Madrid, confirmed that they are interested in signing Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese star, is Manchester United’s top player, Premier’s League best striker and the recent winner of the ‘Golden Boot’ trophy. This award is offered for the player that scored the most goals during a single season in an European domestic league. Cristiano Ronaldo has scored over 30 goals in this Premier League season, totalizing 41 goals until the moment in all competitions for the Red Devils.
During a recent interview Real Madrid’s official Miguel Angel Arroyo confirmed that the Spanish club aims for Cristiano Ronaldo and that from Madrid’s point of view the financial side of the deal is not a problem for this transfer. With other words, Real Madrid are ready to pay as much as United ask, they need only for Ronaldo and the Red Devils to agree for the move.
Cristiano Ronaldo has the chance to follow on David Beckham’s steps as the second number 7 from Manchester United that switches for Real Madrid for a record backing fee. Real Madrid seem to be prepared to offer 100 million pounds for Man Utd’s star.
‘If it is not possible for the club to sign, it would not be because of money but for other reasons’, said Miguel Angel Arroyo according to ESPN.com.
5 reasons for Cristiano Ronaldo to leave Manchester United
1. If Man Utd win the Champions League he will have all the major trophies won with the Red Devils and his motivation for the next season could suffer. A switch to a new team would mean new goals.
2. Cristiano Ronaldo protested once this season against the rough tackles in the Premier League and he stated that he is afraid no to end up as Arsenal’s Eduardo. The Spanish football is considerably less rough from this point of view.
3. The Spanish football advantages technical players. The defenses are weaker. He could easily brake the 50 goals per season record in the La Liga.
4. Manchester United have Nani and other technical players that can’t improve if they are not playing regularly in the starting 11. It’s the same issue as Arsenal’s youngsters had while Thierry Henry was still playing for the Gunners.
5. We all know that Manchester United is a money machine. A 100 million pounds offer on a player not matter how good he is might be very tempting for the Red Devils.
