Joey Barton Jailed for Assault

At Liverpool Crown Court today, Newcastle midfielder Joey Barton has been jailed for 6 months. He had plead guilty to an assault outside a McDonalds fast food restaurant in the city the previous December. Judge Henry Globe QC described the incident as "a violent and cowardly act".
The court how Barton had been out with his brother and friends on Boxing Day when trouble flaired. Barton had drunk 10 pints of lager and 5 bottles of strong beer, before heading to a McDonalds in liverpool city centre. There was an argument inside the restaurant, before Barton and his friends made their way outside.
Barton was then observed by police on CCTV striking a male and knocking him to the floor. He then punched the unconcious victim a further 5 times while he lay on the road. His cousin (who was also convicted) threw food at the victim. Barton then incredibly returned to the scene and punched the victim a further 16 times.
To make matters worse, minutes after this attack Barton then punched a 16 year old boy, shattering his front teeth. Barton was also ordered to pay over £2,000 to that victim. His cousin (Andrew Barton) was jailed for 4 months, but suspended for 2 years.
Bartons History of Shame
Barton is a scumbag and no stranger to trouble.
He was arrested in early 2007 over an incident with a Taxi driver (again in Liverpool).
He also assaulted French midfielder Dabo in a training ground bust up at their Carrington pitch. According to eye witnesses, Barton repeatedly assaulted Dabo and only stopped when restrained by Paul Dickov. Barton was sent home for the season, while Dabo was carted off to hospital to have severe facial injuries dealt with.
He also managed to get himself sent home from a pre-season tour, after stubbing out a cigar in the eye of a youth team player.
He ran over a Liverpool fan in his car, breaking the victim’s leg. The victim had been enjoying his teams Champions League victory over Chelsea when Barton struck.
He was fined 8 weeks wages after an assault on a defenseless 15 year old in Thailand. Thailand is the number 1 location in the world for ladyboys.
None of this should come as a surprise to his family, given that his own brother is a racist murderer. He murdered a black teenager with an ice pick, then encourage Joey Barton to help him evade capture by the police.
