Brazil and Uruguay qualified for the Copa America semi-final stage

Brazil and Uruguay are the first two teams to qualify for the Copa America 2007 semi-final stage. Both have won with a clear superiority their quarter-final games played yesterday. Uruguay has defeated the host nation Venezuela after an intresting game that was balanced until the final quarter of the match when Uruguay managed to take the lead and to increase it in the final minutes of the game.

Mexico wins the Group B while Brazil finish second

The Copa America Group B has also set the final standings last night with Mexico winning the group and Brazil finishing second. The last Match-day showed a 0-0 tie between Mexico and Chile, while Brazil just edged out Ecuador after a penalty kick goal scored by Robinho. Read more

Venezuela wins Group A and achieves a historic performance

Group A ended yesterday with a surprise winner. The host nation Venezuela managed to win the group totalising five points out of nine possible. In the last match of the group Venezuela draw a goalless draw against Uruguay. This resulted in Uruguay’s missing the first two spots of this Copa America group.
The second team qualified from this group is Peru who draw yesterday 2-2 against the last team in the standings, Bolivia. So Peru finished the group second and Bolivia managed to grab only the last place and a definite Copa America competition end. Read more
