Rangers win their second match-day of the 08-09 Scottish Premier League season. The Rangers from Glasgow defeated Hearts with 2-0. Lafferty scored the opening goal in the 37th minute. Chelsea won as expected at the Stamford Bridge against Portsmouth. The Blues also managed to obtain the needed goal difference in order to climb on the top spot of the Premier League starting with the first match-day.

Hull City are the only fresh promoted Premier League squad that managed a win during this first match-day of the new Premier League season. Fulham where the unlucky victims. Surprisingly, Fulham gave all points away at the KC Stadium after leading with 1-0.

Bolton obtain comfortable win against the newly promoted Stoke City. It’s the first match-day of the 08-09 Premier League season and Bolton did not take the Stoke City players to easy.
The halftime score was already 3-0 for the home side after goals scored by Steinsson, Davies and Elmander. Fuller scored the consolation goal for Stoke in the last moments of the match. This categoric win makes Bolton the first leaders of the EPL. Read more
