Tottenham defeat Liverpool for the second time in 11 days and eliminate the Reds from the Carling Cup. Rafa Benitez did rest around 7 players from the main squad but the difference between the two sides was noticeable.

Real Madrid have managed the negative performance to see themselves kicked out of the Copa del Rey by Real Union, a team from the Second Division B - Group 1. After the first leg 3-2 away defeat, Real managed only a 4-3 home win and have been eliminated because scoring less goals as the opponent in the away games.
