Real Madrid demolish Sporting Gijon and beat Barcelona’s record. The Catalans managed to defeat, in an away game, poor Gijon with 6-1. Real managed to top this a few minutes ago in the 4th La Liga match-day.
Bernd Schuster’s side won with 7-1 managing to score one more goal as their arch rivals did. Rafael van der Vaart was the early hero. He scored a great hat-trick, managing a superb back-heal goal. Barcelona shown healthy signs on Sunday in their away game against Sporting Gijon. The Catalans won 6-1 but we have to take into consideration that they played against the last team in the La Liga table. Anyway the Gijon win and the previous Champions League success against Sporting Lisbon, showed that Barcelona can be a real candidate to the La Liga title.
