Real Madrid need a win today at the Santiago Bernabeu in order to turn back ahead of Barcelona in the La Liga standings. The Catalans have won last night 6-1 against Atletico and are now second in the table.
The Champions meet Espanyol and aim to revenge Atletico who where humiliated last night at the Camp Nou. The encounter is scheduled to start at 9pm GMT+1 time.

Barcelona finally played at the level expected by all their fans. The Catalans crashed Atletico Madrid with 6-1 in a match that ended a few minutes ago. The scoreboard progressed incredibly fast. Barca where up 2-0 by the 6th minute, 3-0 by the 8th minute and 4-1 by the 18th minute. This means that we had a goal every 3 minutes during the first quarter of the game.
Rafa Marquez, Samuel Eto’o (2) and Lionel Messi where noted down as the goalscorers. Eidjur Gudjohnsen set the halftime score in the 28th minute. Read more

Barcelona have another important match in the La Liga. After last weekend’s local derby against Espanyol the play tonight against Atletico Madrid at the Camp Nou.
The Catalans currently rank 5th in the La Liga, while Ateltico are located 2 spots lower. Joseph Guardiola’s side has started recording positive results, but their football still doesn’t impress. The Barcelona Derby was the second Derby of the day after the Mereside Derby. This La Liga encounter was dramatic indeed. Espanyol opened the score in the 20th minute after a series of rebounds and a blunder in Barca’s defense.
Barcelona really took control of the Derby as Espanyol where reduced to 10 men at the beginning of the second half. Nene was rejected for receiving a second yellow card. Barca started attacking in waves but Espanyol where defending themselves with all lines. Read more

Real Madrid return to their old habit of winning when nobody expects it. Schuster’s boys managed a 90+1′ minute win in Sevilla against Betis after Ruud van Nisterlooy’s goal.
Heinze opened the score for Real with a nice header. Garcia equalized for Betis after a penalty kick that brought also Marcelo’s rejection. Important to mention that Garcia initially missed the penalty kick but he managed to score from the rebound. Read more
