Valencia’s striker and the top goal scorer of the EURO 2008, is injured for tomorrow’s big final. David Silva has obtained a muscle injury in the 34th minute of the semi-final game against Russia.
The Spanish national team doctor Jesus Jimenez has confirmed that David Villa needs at least 6 days of recovery. This means that he will be out of the EURO 2008 final.
David Villa has scored 4 goals during the European tournament and has proved himself the most in shape striker of the Spanish side, against the odds that expected Fernando Torres in the same position.
Valencia’s striker has registered a hat-trick in the opening group stage game against Russia and added another goal in the second group stage match against Sweden. It was the most important 2-1 winning goal, scored in the 90th minute. Read more

Guus Hidink receives Russian Citizenship
After Russia’s ongoing success at the EURO 2008, Guus Hidink has received an offer from the Russian President, Dmitri Medvedev, to get the Russian citizenship. The Russian leaders are afraid that Hidink might not be welcomed in Holland anymore after Russia defeated Netherlands in the EURO 2008 quarter-finals. Hidink’s boys managed a 3-1 win during the extra-time and qualified for the semi-finals, while the Dutch side headed back home.
Guus Hidink is not at his first performance or award. The Dutch coach has qualified South Korea for the World Cup 2002 semi-finals. The Koreans offered him free food for the rest of his life and unlimited airline flights. Read more

Cristiano Ronaldo is not interested in Sir Alex Ferguson’s opinion when it comes on leaving Manchester United in favor of Real Madrid. It seems that the Portuguese star is ready to switch for the La Liga Champions no matter what advices he gets from the United staff.
According to the famous English magazine, The SUN, Cristiano Ronaldo has gone that far and declared that he doesn’t care if he will be upsetting Alex Ferguson and the United staff in case of a Real Madrid transfer.

Giovani Dos Santos has signed with Tottenham Hotspur until June 2013.
Important transfer for the Spurs. The team from the White Hart Lane have closed the deal with FC Barcelona for Giovani Dos Santos. Barca’s starlet will move to the UK for about 6 million euros (4.7 million pounds).
The 19-year-old Barcelona offensive midfielder will bring Barcelona another 5 million euros (3.9 million pounds) if he exceeds a certain number of appearances for the English club. The Catalans will also receive 20% from an eventual Dos Santos departure from the White Hart Lane, if this is made in his first 2 years of contract. Read more
Injured Fabio Cannavaro misses EURO 2008

Italy receive a massive blow as their 34-year-old captain was reported injured after Monday’s training session.
Fabio Cannavaro has suffered a tearing ankle ligaments injury, after he was tackled by Giorgio Chiellini. This stupid injury was registered in Italy’s first training session in Austria. Immediately after the tackle, Real Madrid’s central defender spent 20 minutes laid down on the pitch with Italy’s medical staff applying massive ice bags on the injured zone.
